Newcastle Eye Care was founded in 2003 by the husband and wife team of Dr. Karl Lee and Dr. Nora Teo. The office moved to its current location at 14 North Street in the fall of 2012, having previously occupied a space across the street on King Avenue.
Dr. Karl Lee earned his Doctor of Optometry Degree from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry. He interned at JFK Memorial Hospital in Philadelphia and at the Scarborough Low Vision Clinic. After practising in Bowmanville for eight years, Dr. Lee then started up Newcastle Eye Care with Dr. Teo. He enjoys spending time with family, basketball, and is active with the church youth group.
Dr. Nora Teo graduated from the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry in 1995. She also completed an internship at JFK Memorial Hospital in Philadelphia, receiving extensive training in the diagnosis, treatment and management of ocular diseases. Upon graduation, Dr. Teo worked in various optometric offices in Brampton, Mississauga, and Etobicoke before deciding to start a practice with her husband in 2003. She is an active member in her church and her four children keep her busy.
Krista is our office manager and optometric assistant. She enjoys helping patients select fashion frames that look amazing and feel just right. When not at the office she enjoys running and spending time with her family.
Ashlynn is our newest member to the team. She is currently taking courses in the optometric assistant program and her long term goal is to become an optician. She is also busy with her two young children and enjoys painting.
